Tennis, anyone?
The tennis court at the corner of East Oak Street and Marsteller Street was built in the late 1970s, after the property was acquired as a park from the owners of the Rosemont Park Market (the predecessor to the Rosemont Cellar). But two tennis courts previously existed on the east side of Commonwealth Avenue, at the intersection with Rosemont Avenue. The first court was completed by the spring of 1912, and featured in a pamphlet publicizing Rosemont; the second was completed in the spring of 1914. The courts disappeared circa 1940, when East Rosemont Avenue was constructed.
